备注

Ajofrín is a small municipality in Toledo province, and like hundreds of Spanish towns it issued its own emergency fractional currency during the Civil War when Republican-zone coinage disappeared almost entirely from circulation after 1936. These locally printed vales were never legal tender in any formal sense — they circulated on community trust alone, redeemable in theory at the issuing council but practically worthless beyond the village boundary.

The Gari Montllor catalog remains the primary reference for these municipal emissions, and the 33-A designation suggests at least minor variety distinctions within the Ajofrín issue. Survival rates for this type of ephemeral wartime paper are unpredictable — some series were printed in tiny quantities, others in runs far exceeding local need.
