| 备注 |
Aitona is a small agricultural municipality in the Lleida province of Catalonia, and like hundreds of similar towns, it issued its own emergency small change during the Spanish Civil War after metallic coin effectively vanished from circulation in 1936. These local municipal issues — collectively known as "guerra civil" paper — were produced under desperate conditions, often printed on whatever stock was available, which accounts for the variable thickness that distinguishes this series from conventional banknote paper.
Turró catalogues this as #48, placing it within a well-documented but still incompletely researched body of Catalan municipal scrip. Surviving examples in any condition are genuinely scarce; the print runs were small, the paper fragile, and most notes were redeemed or simply discarded once the war ended.
