| Beschrijving voorzijde | Printed entirely in red by letterpress on plain paper, the note carries a bold rectangular border of vertical rules enclosing a fine dotted underprint that fills the central field. The issuer's name, AJUNTAMENT D'AGER, appears in large block capitals across the upper band, below which the bearer text and denomination CINQUANTA CENTIMS are set in a smaller serif typeface, followed by the issue date of 7 March 1937. A handwritten serial number prefaced by Numero occupies the lower left, and a violet official municipal stamp has been applied to the right-centre field, while the value declaration VAL PER CINQUANTA CENTIMS runs along the bottom margin flanked by dashes. |

Àger is a small municipality in the Noguera comarca of Lleida, and like hundreds of Catalan and Spanish towns during the Civil War, it issued its own emergency fractional currency in 1937 when the Republican government's coin supply collapsed almost entirely. The chronic shortage of small change — caused by hoarding, melting, and the disruption of the Mint — forced local authorities across the Republican zone to print their own paper substitutes, however modest the issuing body.
Turró catalogs only a handful of denominations for Àger, and the series is genuinely scarce given the town's small population and the limited print runs such municipalities could manage.
