| Opmerkingen |
Abenójar is a small municipality in the province of Ciudad Real, and like hundreds of similar Castilian towns during the Civil War, its local council resorted to issuing its own emergency small change when Republican Spain's coin supply effectively collapsed after 1936. These consejo municipal notes were purely local instruments — legally worthless outside the issuing town and often refused even by neighboring villages.
The Gari Mon catalogue designation places this in the B subtype, indicating a variant within the series, most likely a paper stock or overprint difference. Thick card stock was a common fallback when proper banknote paper was unavailable.
