| Obverse description | Central field features the Seal of Solomon (Star of David / six-pointed star motif rendered as a five-pointed star — specifically the Sharifian pentagram), elaborately interlaced and surrounded by dense Arabesque foliate scrollwork in high relief. A circular inner border encloses the design, with the Latin legend EMPIRE CHERIFIEN arching along the upper portion of the border. An Arabic inscription appears at the base of the inner circle. The dodecagonal flan provides a broad flat rim framing the entire composition. |
