| Obverse description | Central field features the Seal of Solomon (five-pointed star, or pentagram) rendered in high relief, its interior filled with elaborate arabesque foliate scrollwork and a central rosette motif. The star and surrounding ornamental design are enclosed within a plain inner circle, beyond which further decorative scrollwork fills the field. The Latin legend EMPIRE CHERIFIEN arcs along the upper periphery, while the Arabic inscription الإمبراطورية الشريفة (Al-Imbaraturiyya al-Sharifah) appears along the lower periphery. The overall design reflects the Franco-Moroccan artistic tradition of the Sherifian coinage. |

| Reverse description | Central design consists of an eight-pointed star-shaped cartouche with intricate geometric and arabesque border ornamentation filling the surrounding field. Within the cartouche, the denomination numeral 50 is prominently displayed in large numerals at centre, flanked to the right by the Latin text CEN-TIMES arranged in two lines. The Arabic legend قطعة (Qit'a, meaning 'piece') appears above the numeral within the cartouche, while سنتيم (Santim, 'centime') is inscribed below. The entire composition is framed by a continuous band of stylised floral and scroll ornament running to the reeded edge. |
