Obverse description Printed in blue, the obverse carries a vignette at left of a standing native figure beside tall palm trees with a canoe in the foreground, rendered in fine letterpress line work. A rectangular border of repeating oval and linear ornaments frames the entire note, with numeral corner pieces. The denomination '50 Centimes' is set in large bold type at centre, above two manuscript facsimile signatures and a printed date.
