Reverse description The reverse displays the denomination 50 C.ES in large numerals and letters at centre, with a caduceus — the winged staff entwined by two serpents, a classical symbol of commerce — superimposed vertically over the numeral. The inscription BON POUR curves along the upper portion of the field, and the date appears in the lower exergue, all separated by small decorative rosette ornaments. The overall design conveys the token nature of this issue through its 'good for' (bon pour) legend, typical of Belgian emergency and subsidiary coinage of the interwar period.
