| Obverse description | Printed on pink paper, the obverse is entirely typographic in layout, framed by a decorative letterpress border of floral and scroll ornaments with corner rosettes and a repeated chain motif along the lower edge. The issuer's name appears in bold capitals at the top, with the serial number and place name on the line below. The denomination 'BON pour 0 Fr. 50' is set in large bold type at centre, above an italic clause stating the redemption conditions, while a large numeral '0,50' printed in gold ink occupies the lower centre alongside a manuscript signature in violet ink. The date '4 Août 1914' is inscribed at lower left, and the issuer's name is repeated vertically in the left margin. |

Cornimont is a small textile-manufacturing town in the Vosges, and when the German army swept through in August 1914, it triggered an almost immediate collapse of small-change availability across the region. Notes like this one — issued not by a municipality or a bank but by a private commercial heir, the successors to Georges Perrin's business — were a direct response to that void. Private commercial emergency issues from named family firms are among the rarer categories of French nécessité paper, since most communes eventually centralized issuance through local government.
The watermark is unusual for an issue at this scale and suggests the Perrin heirs sourced pre-quality paper stock, possibly from the regional paper mills the Vosges was known for.
