| Obverse description | Printed in reddish-purple on cream paper, the obverse is framed by an ornate guilloche border with rosette corner pieces and vertical side panels inscribed COMMERCE and NAVIGATION. The arms of Le Havre surmounted by a heraldic crest appear at the top centre between the dual authority inscriptions VILLE DU HAVRE and DU HAVRE ET CHAMBRE DE COMMERCE. The denomination 50 CENTIMES is set in bold letterpress within a central panel, flanked by a large red-orange guilloche underprint, with facsimile signatures of the President of the Chamber of Commerce and the Mayor of the City of Le Havre below, alongside the serial number and the year 1920 in a cartouche at the foot. |
