Anmerkungen

The Paris Chamber of Commerce emergency notes were born out of a coin shortage that gripped France from the early war years onward. By 1920, small change was still so scarce that commercial chambers across the country — not just Paris — had been issuing their own fractional notes for several years, filling a gap the Banque de France and the Treasury had failed to close. The Paris series ran through an extraordinary number of sub-varieties, which the JP reference range here reflects accurately.

Collectors should note that the sheer volume of types and dates within this series makes precise sub-variety attribution genuinely difficult without direct reference to Jérôme Picard's classifications.
