| Obverse description | Printed in brown on cream paper, the obverse is framed by a braided rope border with an inner dotted rule. A central cartouche carries the issuer's name and the denomination BON DE CINQUANTE CENTIMES in bold letterpress. At upper centre, a vignette of the municipal coat of arms is flanked by laurel and oak branches, with the Republican monogram RF repeated in the upper corners and as a guilloche device at the foot. Two rural vignettes occupy the lateral panels: to the left a sower at work in a field, to the right a peasant woman tending livestock, both executed in fine line engraving. The facsimile signatures of the President and Treasurer, together with the series letter and serial number, appear in the lower half of the central field. |

| Reverse description | The reverse is printed in red-brown on plain cream paper within the same braided rope and dotted-rule border as the obverse. The entire field is occupied by a lengthy redemption text in an elegant italic script, setting out the conditions under which the notes would be exchanged in multiples of ten against Banque de France billets and confirming that repayment was guaranteed by a deposit of equal value held at the Banque de France in the Chamber's name. At the foot of the central text panel, the year 1915 is incorporated into a small symmetrical ornament of laurel sprigs. |
