| Mô tả mặt trước | A proud Gallic rooster stands facing left in the centre of the field, rendered with fine feather detail in high relief. Above and to the right of the rooster's head appears a heraldic shield bearing the monogram 'RF' (République Française), symbolising French sovereignty. The legend CAMEROUN FRANÇAIS curves along the lower periphery of the coin, flanked by a beaded border. The overall design evokes the Free French symbolism characteristic of wartime colonial coinage. |

Produced under the Free French administration during the Vichy-Allied split, this issue dates to a period when French Equatorial Africa and Cameroon were among the first French territories to rally to de Gaulle — Cameroon's governor Richard Brunot declared for the Free French in August 1940. Bronze coinage continued under the French Équatoriale umbrella precisely because the territory needed functional small change while cut off from metropolitan French supply chains.
