Obverse description A proud Gallic rooster stands facing left in the centre of the field, rendered with fine feather detail in high relief. Above and to the right of the rooster's head appears a heraldic shield bearing the monogram 'RF' (République Française), symbolising French sovereignty. The legend CAMEROUN FRANÇAIS curves along the lower periphery of the coin, flanked by a beaded border. The overall design evokes the Free French symbolism characteristic of wartime colonial coinage.
