| Obverse description | Left-facing bust of Liberty as Ceres, her hair elaborately arranged in curls and adorned with a wreath of wheat ears and flowers, a diadem inscribed 'CONCORDE' across her brow. The engraver's signature 'E. A. OUDINÉ F.' appears in small lettering at the base of the neck truncation. The encircling legend 'RÉPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE' runs along the periphery, with a six-pointed star positioned above the effigy at twelve o'clock. The portrait is rendered in high relief in the neoclassical style characteristic of Oudiné's work for the Second Republic. |
