| Obverse description | Left portion occupied by an intaglio-engraved rural vignette of two horses drawing a harvesting machine operated by a farmhand, with a tree and open landscape in the background. The bank title 'EL BANCO DE LA REPÚBLICA ORIENTAL DEL URUGUAY' is inscribed in a bold curved banner across the upper centre, above the promise-to-pay text in italic script set against a fine guilloche underprint of repeating '50' and 'CINCUENTA CENTESIMOS' lettering in red and green. The denomination 'CINCUENTA CENTÉSIMOS' appears in a large dark cartouche across the centre, with numeral '50' counters at each corner and a large red numeral '50' overprint at lower centre flanked by three manuscript signature lines. |
