Beschrijving keerzijde The allegorical figure of Aequitas (Equity) is depicted seated left on a throne-chariot in the upper left field, holding a torch-topped sceptre. Before her, three lions stride powerfully to the right in procession, their manes rendered in bold sculptural relief, conveying strength and civic order. The legend AEQVITAS arcs across the upper field, while the denomination C. 50 appears in large characters along the lower margin. The date and the Rome mint mark R are inscribed in the lower field between the lions and the denomination, with the engraver's initials A. MOTTI discretely present.

Aanvullende informatie

Italy's postwar nickel coinage was a direct consequence of wartime metal requisitions — silver had been systematically pulled from circulation to fund the conflict, and the Treasury needed a durable, affordable substitute. Nickel was the answer, and these pieces entered circulation just as the country was lurching through the political instability that would bring Mussolini to power in 1922.

The series ran long enough to span the consolidation of the Fascist state, though the coins themselves changed little across the production run. Pagani 811 is the base reference for the type, with minor date-related variations tracked by collectors across the sixteen-year span.
