| Opmerkingen |
Sonora's Hacienda department resorted to issuing its own fractional currency in 1914 because the Mexican Revolution had so thoroughly disrupted the coin supply that small-denomination transactions had become nearly impossible across the northwest. These notes were a local fiscal stopgap, not an instrument of any recognized banking authority. The Taylor press in Guaymas — a commercial job printer, not a specialist currency house — produced the series, which shows in the workmanship.
Pérez Ojeda served as Jefe de Hacienda under the Sonoran government aligned with Carranza's Constitutionalist faction.
