Reverse description A finely detailed coconut palm tree, bearing a cluster of coconuts at the crown and rendered with naturalistic fronds, occupies the left and centre of the field, its trunk rising from a tuft of grass at the base. The numeral 50 is inscribed in large characters to the right of the palm, with the word CENTAVOS arching below in a slightly smaller legend, completing the denomination. The design reflects the FAO theme of agricultural self-sufficiency, with the palm serving as a symbol of tropical produce.
