| Obverse description | The obverse features the Mexican national eagle displayed facing left, perched on a cactus rising from a rocky outcrop surrounded by water, with a serpent clutched in its beak — a design derived from the standard Republican coat of arms. The eagle is depicted with wings spread in heraldic fashion, rendered in low relief on the flat field. A wreath of laurel and oak flanks the lower portion of the central device. The arc legend REPUBLICA MEXICANA runs along the upper periphery in raised Latin letters, and the design is bordered by a dentilated inner rim. |
