正面描述	Printed in dark brown intaglio on a light ground with multicolour guilloche underprint, the obverse carries at centre-left a diamond-shaped cartouche enclosing the denomination numeral Q0.50 within an ornate border, with fraction numerals '1/2' repeated at each corner. To the right, a landscape vignette presents a view of the Cerro del Carmen church. Three manuscript signatures are positioned along the lower margin beneath the main inscription panel.

备注	Waterlow & Sons had a long relationship with Central American issuers, and the Guatemalan series of this period reflects the firm's late output before its absorption into De La Rue in 1961 — meaning notes printed in 1959 were produced by a company that had fewer than two years left as an independent entity. The fractional quetzal denomination had real purchasing power in Guatemala at this time. A 50 centavos note was not pocket change.
