Three five-pointed stars are arranged across the chief of the shield. A scroll beneath the shield bears the legend COMMONWEALTH OF THE PHILIPPINES. The circumscribed legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA arcs along the upper periphery in bold Latin lettering, and the mint year 1936 appears in the lower field below the shield. |
