| Reverse description | Printed in red on cream paper, the reverse presents a central allegorical vignette of a seated woman in classical robes attended by two young children, one kneeling before her and one seated at her side, set against a leafy background in fine letterpress style. The denomination '50 CENTAVOS' within the legend 'VALE' appears in a large circular cartouche at the upper right. An anti-counterfeiting appeal in Portuguese is inscribed in a panel at the foot of the central frame, and the whole is enclosed by the same rosette-pattern border as the obverse. |
