Obverse description The crowned arms of Portuguese Timor occupy the central field, featuring the Portuguese armillary sphere overlaid with the royal shield bearing the traditional quinas and castles, surmounted by a mural crown of five towers. Small floral ornaments flank the shield on either side. The legend TIMOR arcs along the upper periphery, while the date 1970 appears in large numerals along the lower periphery, all within a beaded border.
