Obverse description The obverse is laid out in a letterpress format with a decorative border of repeating ornamental units enclosing the entire design. At left, the circular seal of the Commonwealth of the Philippines is printed in blue ink, bearing the eagle and shield device. The central text block carries the authority and redemption legend, with the denomination FIFTY CENTAVOS set in bold, and a serial number in red to its right; the names of the board Chairman and Members, along with a manuscript signature, appear at lower left.

Reverse description The reverse is printed entirely in black letterpress on plain paper, enclosed within the same repeating ornamental border as the obverse. The denomination appears in the four corners as '50 cts.' and along the top and bottom margins as FIFTY CENTAVOS. The body of the note carries bilingual redemption and anti-counterfeiting text in both English and Visayan (Cebuano), set in italic and roman typefaces in alternating paragraphs.
