Obverse description Left-facing effigy of Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap, after the design by French engraver Eugène-André Oudiné. The portrait is rendered in high relief with fine detailing of the hair, known in two distinct varieties: smooth hair (CJ#173.1) and curled hair (CJ#173.2). The legend REPUBLICA ARGENTINA arcs along the upper periphery, flanked by small ornamental stars, with the date appearing in the lower field. A beaded border frames the entire design.
