| Obverse description | Allegorical effigy of Liberty facing left, her hair elaborately dressed and adorned with a laurel wreath, with flowing locks descending to the shoulder. The legend REPUBLICA PORTUGUESA arcs along the upper periphery, framed by a continuous inner beaded border. The date 1929 appears in the lower field beneath the portrait. The overall style is consistent with the standard Portuguese Republican Liberty type used across colonial coinage of the period. |
