Obverse description Light ochre and black bicolour note with the Argentine Coat of Arms at right and an intaglio portrait vignette of Captain General Justo José de Urquiza at left. The face carries printed date and text in black letterpress against a fine guilloche underprint. Denomination and issuing authority inscriptions appear in both the upper and lower panels.

Reverse description Printed in dark brown on an intricate guilloche background, the reverse centres on an intaglio vignette of three young girls gathered around an open book, rendered in a classical academic style. The denomination numeral '50' appears in large figures at both the left and right panels, with the legend 'REPÚBLICA ARGENTINA' arranged in an arc around the central vignette. The printer's imprint runs along the lower margin.
