| 背面描述 | The Chilean national coat of arms occupies the central field, displaying a quartered shield with a five-pointed star at center, surmounted by a plumed crest of three ostrich feathers. The shield is flanked on each side by branches of laurel and oak tied at the base with a ribbon bow. The mintmark So appears to the right of the wreath. The legend REPUBLICA DE CHILE arcs around the upper periphery, while the denomination 50 CENTS is inscribed along the lower arc, all within a beaded inner border. |

KM#Pn12 designates this piece as a pattern — one of several copper trial strikes produced in 1867 as Chile's mint explored decimal coinage reforms. The centavo system had only been officially adopted in 1851, and by the late 1860s the Casa de Moneda was still rationalizing denominations and testing compositions. This 50 centavos pattern never advanced to circulation issue; no copper 50 centavos would enter regular production under the Chilean decimal series.
