| Beschrijving keerzijde | Cast copper reverse centered on a square perforation, flanked by four inscription fields in three distinct scripts. To the right, a vertical Manchu legend reads 'Yarkiyang' (ᠶᡝᡵᡴᡳᠶᠠᠩ), identifying the Yarkand mint in the Manchu language. To the left, a vertical Old Uyghur Arabic-script legend reads 'Yarkand' (ياركند), providing the same mint identification in the local Turkic script. Above the square hole appears the Chinese character 當 (Dang, meaning 'worth' or 'equivalent to'), and below appear the Chinese characters 十五 (Shi Wu, 'fifteen'), together forming 'Dang Shi Wu' — indicating a denomination of 50 cash in the conventional reading. The field is flat with raised rims, and casting irregularities are consistent with provincial Xinjiang mint production of the Xianfeng period. |
