Obverse description Cast brass coin featuring four large Chinese characters in regular script (kaishu) arranged in cruciform order around a central square hole, read top-to-bottom and right-to-left. The inscription 咸豐重寶 (Xianfeng Zhongbao) fills the four quadrants of the obverse field, with each character occupying its own quadrant. The characters are boldly rendered in a formal, square style typical of Qing dynasty cash coinage. No additional decoration or border ornament is present beyond the raised rim.
