The characters 咸豐重寶 (Xianfeng Zhongbao) are rendered in regular script (kaishu), occupying the four cardinal positions around the central perforation. The field is plain and unadorned, with the legends cast in well-defined relief against a flat background typical of Qing dynasty cash coinage. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | Central square hole divides two vertical Manchu script inscriptions reading 'Boo-chuwan' (the Manchu rendering of the Chengdu Board of Revenue Mint), one character to the left and one to the right of the perforation. Above the central hole appears the Chinese character 當 (Dang, meaning 'valued at'), and below are the two Chinese characters 五十 (Wu Shi, meaning '50'), together denoting the denomination 'Dang Wu Shi' or valued at 50 cash. All legends are cast in relief in the plain field, consistent with standard Qing large-denomination cash coinage of the Xianfeng era. |
