| Obverse description | Large cast brass cash coin featuring the four-character dynastic legend 太平天國 (Tai Ping Tian Guo, meaning 'Taiping Heavenly Kingdom') disposed horizontally around a central square perforation, reading top to bottom and right to left in regular script (kaishu). The characters are rendered in bold, deeply cast relief against a flat field, with 太 at top, 天 at right, 平 at bottom, and 國 at left. The broad, plain rim is raised and well-defined. |
