| Obverse description | Dark green intaglio design with a vignette of Andrés Bello at right, based on a portrait attributed to an unknown painter executed in Santiago de Chile in 1850, set against a guilloche underprint. The centre bears a large numeral '50' flanked by the inscription 'CINCUENTA BOLÍVARES' above and the payment clause 'PAGADEROS AL PORTADOR EN LAS OFICINAS DEL BANCO' below.
