| Obverse description | Central vignette at right shows a group of science students gathered around a laboratory table, rendered in intaglio against a light guilloche underprint. To the far right, a traditional Ethiopian musical instrument (krar) is visible, while the left margin carries the national arms with a plough over a guilloche rosette and the denomination numeral 50. Bilingual inscriptions in Amharic and English frame the upper and lower borders, with a facsimile signature below the central vignette. |
