| Description de l’avers | Light-blue dominant print over a multicolour guilloche underprint; a front-facing bust vignette of King Rama IX in Royal House of Chakri ceremonial gown occupies the right portion of the note, with the Garuda emblem of Thailand positioned at upper left. The large denomination in Thai numerals is centred, with the Arabic numeral denomination at upper left, while a tactile eight-petal floral device arranged as braille numeral '5' appears at lower right. Security elements include EURion constellation patterns at upper and lower centre, a latent image '50' at lower left visible at an oblique angle, a perfect-registration split numeral '50' spanning obverse and reverse at upper left, and multiple rows of '50' microtext flanking the bust and watermark window; red serial numbers and black signatures are present. |

Series 16 was introduced partly to address counterfeiting pressure that had grown acute in the mid-2000s, prompting the Bank of Thailand to substantially upgrade the security thread specification across the denomination range. The 50 baht note in this series carries a windowed thread — a meaningful step up from the fully embedded threads used in earlier issues, though the note stops well short of the polymer substrate that Thailand had already adopted for its 20 baht denomination by this point.
Printed entirely in-house at the Ratchadaphisek Road facility, which has produced Thai notes since 1969 and remains one of the few central bank printing works in Southeast Asia fully owned and operated by its issuing authority.
