The Cyrillic legend 'АҦСНЫ АХАДА' (Head of Apsny) is inscribed above the portrait, accompanied by the tenure dates '1991–2005'. The surname and initials 'АРӠЫНБА В.Г.' appear below or alongside the effigy. The national flag of the Republic of Abkhazia is depicted to one side of the portrait, adding a symbolic national element to the commemorative design. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Vladislav Ardzinba, commemorated here, led Abkhazia's secession from Georgia in the early 1990s — a war that killed thousands and displaced roughly 250,000 Georgians, producing one of the post-Soviet era's most entrenched frozen conflicts. He served as the breakaway republic's first president until 2004, when deteriorating health forced him from office. Abkhazia remains unrecognized by the vast majority of UN member states, meaning the Apsar itself has no standing as legal tender outside the territory's own political framework.
The coin was produced by the Russian Mint on behalf of Apsny Abank. Mintage figures for this series are extremely low.
