| Additional information |
The Sedov is a four-masted barque built in Germany in 1921 — originally named Magdalene Vinnen II — that passed to Soviet hands as war reparations after 1945 and became a training vessel for the Russian navy. She remains the largest traditional sailing ship still in active service anywhere in the world. Rwanda's issuance is part of a broader numismatic program placing famous tall ships on collector silver, a category with no connection to the issuing nation's history or geography whatsoever.
