| 背面描述 | Two mountain gorillas (Gorilla beringei beringei) are depicted at centre in high relief, set against a backdrop of volcanic mountains characteristic of Rwanda's Virunga range. The outline map of the African continent appears at lower left, anchoring the design geographically. The inscriptions AFRICAN HALF and the date 2021 appear in the upper field, while the weight and fineness designation 1/2 G FINE GOLD .9999 is inscribed along the lower legend. |

Rwanda's Gorilla bullion series, launched in 2013, occupies an unusual position in the modern gold bullion market — officially issued by the National Bank of Rwanda but produced and distributed entirely through the Bavarian State Mint in Munich under a long-standing licensing arrangement. The half-gram denomination was introduced to bring the series within reach of lower entry-price buyers as spot prices climbed through the late 2010s.
Annual mintage figures are not publicly disclosed by the issuing authority, which has made tracking series population genuinely difficult for registry collectors.
