Reverse description A detailed architectural rendering of Sungnyemun (Namdaemun, the Great South Gate of Seoul), a two-tiered traditional Korean gate pavilion set atop a massive stone-arched rampart, occupies the central field. Above the gate, the official emblem of the 1988 Seoul Olympics — a stylized Taeguk spiral motif — is depicted alongside the five interlocked Olympic rings. The encircling legend reads XXIV OLYMPIAD SEOUL 1988 along the upper periphery, while the denomination 50000 WON is inscribed in large letters along the lower rim.
