Opmerkingen

The Bank of Uganda's high-denomination notes have historically tracked the country's inflationary pressures — the 50,000 shilling note, introduced in the 2010 series, represents a face value that would have been unimaginable when Uganda redenominated its currency in 1987, lopping two zeros off the collapsed Milton Obote-era shilling. Thomas De La Rue's involvement here is long-standing; they have printed Ugandan currency through multiple political transitions, from Amin's purges through the NRM consolidation.

Pick 54 spans over a decade of issue dates, suggesting the design saw no major security upgrades compelling enough to retire it within that window.
