Obverse description Portrait vignette of Bohdan Khmelnytsky (1595–1657), Hetman of the Zaporozhian Host and leader of the 1648–1654 uprising against the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, positioned at centre against a fine guilloche underprint. Multilingual inscriptions appear in Cyrillic across the face in Russian, Moldovan, and Ukrainian, identifying the issuing bank and denomination. The overall design retains the coupon-style format characteristic of Transnistrian emergency currency issues of the period.
