| Aanvullende informatie |
Yunus Emre, the 13th-century Anatolian poet and Sufi mystic, was the subject of sustained official commemoration in Turkey throughout 1991 — the year UNESCO designated as the 750th anniversary of his birth, though the actual birth date remains historically contested. The Turkish state leaned heavily into the UNESCO designation as an opportunity to project cultural soft power, and this coin was part of a broader commemorative program issued in coordination with that calendar.
KM#1006 was struck in .925 silver at the Turkish state mint in Istanbul.
