| Obverse description | Central field features a detailed frontal view of Pha That Luang, the iconic gilded Buddhist stupa of Vientiane, rendered in high relief with its characteristic tiered spire, surrounding smaller stupas, and ornate gateway at the base. The upper field is divided diagonally between a mirror-like proof field and a frosted sky, with the curved legend 'Bank of the LAO PDR' arching along the upper rim. The fineness mark 'Ag 925' appears along the left side of the field, and the Moscow Mint privy mark is visible to the right.
