| Reverse description | Central black-enamelled disc features a fully gilt, color-applied effigy of the Budai (Laughing or Smiling Buddha), depicted seated in a frontal pose with a broad smile, rotund figure, and hands resting upon his lap, rendered in vivid gold coloring against the dark background. A fine beaded border encircles the central disc, which is itself surrounded by an elaborately patterned outer ring bearing raised foliate and scrollwork motifs in matte and polished silver relief. The overall composition conveys themes of good fortune and prosperity. |
