备注

Paraguay's 50,000 Guaraníes denomination was introduced in 1990 as chronic inflation steadily eroded the purchasing power of lower values — by the mid-1990s, the 50,000 Gs note was barely worth USD 25 at prevailing exchange rates. The segmented security strip referenced in this catalog entry was a mid-series upgrade, replacing the earlier plain embedded thread as counterfeiting pressures increased across the region.

Thomas De La Rue's involvement kept production quality consistent across the Guaraníes series of this period, though Paraguay was hardly unique among South American central banks in outsourcing high-denomination printing to London during the inflationary 1990s.
