The Polska Krajowa Kasa Pożyczkowa — the Polish State Loan Bank, originally established under German occupation in 1916 — was still issuing currency in 1923 despite Poland having its own Treasury and central banking apparatus. By the time this 50,000,000 Mark note entered circulation, Polish hyperinflation had reached a pitch where notes of this denomination became functionally worthless within weeks of printing. The zloty reform of 1924 extinguished the entire Mark series at 1,800,000 Marks to the złoty.
High face values printed in Warsaw domestically kept pace with demand rather than stabilizing it.
