| Obverse description | Printed in dark blue-black on buff paper, the obverse is dominated by a large Fraktur (blackletter) denomination legend reading 'Fünfzig Milliarden Mark' across the centre, with an ornate scrollwork initial 'F' vignette at left. A winged wheel emblem — the symbol of the Deutsche Reichsbahn — is centred below the denomination text.
