| Obverse description | The obverse is printed in black on pale grey paper with a fine guilloche underprint. At left, a large ornate numeral '50' serves as the primary vignette, flanked by decorative scrollwork. The central text block carries the denomination in Gothic blackletter script reading 'Gutschein über 50 Milliarden Mark', followed by a clause stating acceptance by the municipal treasuries of Eschweiler and Stolberg and the local industrial banks, with validity expiring four weeks after public announcement. The issue date 'Den 20. Okt. 1923' appears above two facsimile signatures of the Bürgermeisters, with the official seals of both cities impressed below; a red overprint panel at left reads 'Umlaufsfähig im ganzen Regierungsbezirk Aachen. Gültig bis zum 1. April 1924', and the series designation 'Reihe A' is printed vertically at right. |
