| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse features the Polish state eagle displayed, crowned and facing right, with wings spread and talons clutching orb-like decorative elements, rendered in bold relief in the Art Deco style. The denomination numeral '5' appears to the left and right of the eagle's body, flanking it symmetrically in the lower field. Below the eagle, the inscription 'ZŁOTYCH' is struck in large capital letters across the lower portion of the field. The date '1928' is placed in the exergue beneath the denomination legend. A fine beaded border encircles the entire design. |

Bank Polski commissioned trial strikes in multiple metals during 1928 as part of the selection process for the new zloty coinage series — nickel was ultimately rejected in favor of silver for the circulating 5 złotych. Essais in nickel from this exercise are genuinely rare survivors of an internal approval process that left almost no documentary trail in public archives.
KM# Pr10 is among the heavier of the known trial pieces, a consequence of nickel blanks prepared to approximate the physical handling characteristics of the intended silver issue.
